Oh my sweet friend Paula!!! I know who to call when my heart hurts over my daughters choices. Your a wonderful example of GRACE and I’m learning from you. Be encouraged because most people can’t give what they don’t have. Gods desire is that all are healed so that they can love the way he first loved us. I’m hear for you and know exactly what your facing. It’s painful but God is so faithful!!!

Probably my favorite of your many great blogs to date, Paula. I have to think about it more – because although you’ve made it amazingly clear and simple, it is a difficult subject. I truly agree with your analogy between the rebelliousness and epilepsy. Someday I’ll try to explain the rage behind the realization that when you’re raised as a ‘church kid’ you soon discover there are concrete barriers poured in front of many courses of action you would otherwise have had as optional choices of behavior. So the rebelliousness is ‘sometimes’ absolute ‘rage’ that your hypertrophied (well developed and opposite of ‘atrophied’), conscience controls most of your behavior whether you like it or not. One reason the perfect child goes through the stages of rebellion at some point just trying to be themselves. Probably lost you there…but it’s a real issue. Example? I went off to UCD after ‘conforming’ to all my parent’s expectations through my childhood. Halleleujah, the chains were off…..but they were not. I’ll leave it there….except to say now I’m older, hopefully wiser and I’ve had a great run. I love my parents, siblings, family, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren – and I love and respect you and so appreciate your love, honesty and clarity…very real and much appreciated always.

Aww, I love this, Kim. The One who is LOVE and who is GRACE lives inside of me. This makes me realize how much of me still lives inside of me because love and grace isn’t as big as I want it to be inside of me. There’s so much of me left there. Something to work on… 🙂

The message of GRACE so resonates with me. I have been given much grace and so much love and should have so much to give in return…but don’t always. I am learning the life of grace and love as I remember who lives inside of me – the One who is LOVE and who is GRACE.
