Thanks so much for leaving a comment, Gina. I do think we need to raise our children to be good workers. It takes a lot of parental energy to do this. Scott and I are always praying for strength and wisdom to raise our kids well. Sadly, the value of hard work is becoming kind of rare. Hoping things turn around for our society.

Great article. My goal is to raise my children to be good workers like my husband and I are. It is also my goal to see them married to spouses who also understand the value of hard work, it is kind of rare.

I so appreciate (love), the wisdom in this ‘work’ blog, Paula! Should be ‘required reading’ for everyone. The Kennedy quote brings back memories and stands in stark contrast to the ‘entitlement’ so popular in today’s PC (politically correct – and not actually correct in the context of reality), world. With Iranian missiles being dropped close to our Naval ships and now the seizure of two of our U.S. Navy ships (today), it could all soon be moot. Sad slide for our once God-fearing nation with such a proud heritage – and in so short a period of time. Your writing is a welcome return to those family values which prevailed while I was growing up. Wonderfully written and shared lovingly with Biblical references and heartwarming family anecdotes lending additional credibility.
